You have an ageing parent or other relative about whom, and possibly for whom, you care. He or she may now need more support than you can offer, even with the assistance of others, and even though he or she receives domiciliary care at home.
You are concerned that they now need full-time residential care. This is a significant decision and a major worry for you.
Here is how we can help:
The Woodlands is a small, fourteen-bedroomed, residential care home in Meols, Wirral.
Many care homes nowadays are very much larger and purpose-built. They can often seem rather impersonal and clinical. Our smaller premises, a thoughtfully adapted, lovely Edwardian house, means that our family of residents truly feel “at home”.
The aim of our experienced and caring staff members is to help our residents enjoy their life to the full by meeting all of their personal needs, both physical and psychological. Your mother or father will be genuinely loved and cared for by our Manager and her staff, as borne out by the comments from residents and their families that you can read on this website and by the fact that the majority of our enquiries come from personal recommendations.
But the “acid test” is this: A senior member of the Care Quality Commission (“CQC”) has said in recent years that one of the “benchmarks” by which the quality of a care home will be judged is the answer to the question, “Would I place my own mother there?”. At the Woodlands, the mother of the two owners, Wirral-born David and Michael Russell, was a resident until January 2017 when, sadly, she passed away at the age of 86.
What better testament is there to the quality of care at The Woodlands?
We’d be delighted to welcome your loved one to our Woodlands family. Contact us now to learn more about how we can help.
