Thursday 27 July saw The Woodlands’ annual narrow boat trip for the residents along part of the Shropshire Union Canal. We joined the barge at Christleton, near Chester, and travelled at the standard 4mph to Tarporley. The two owners of The Woodlands, David and Michael Russell, accompanied those residents who chose to participate, along with two members of staff, Jane and Karen.
The weather started out rather grey and damp but it improved during the day. The staff had prepared a splendid lunch to take with us and we enjoyed a drink in the gardens of The Shady Oak pub before returning to the barge for the journey home. A good time was had by all!
