Christmas 2017 Activities

“Bring on the Figgy Pudding!”
On Thursday, 14 December, all of the residents, plus some of their families, were served a full and delicious Christmas lunch at The Woodlands. Our staff members, Gill Hunt and Jane Arnott, did a grand job of cooking a splendid meal for over twenty people. A huge thank you to them, and to all our staff who helped on the day.

“Hark, the Herald Angels Sing!”
On Tuesday, 19 December, our residents, some of their families, and various other guests, attended a special Carol Service at St Hildeburgh’s Church in Hoylake. This has now become an annual event, led by “Off Pitch”, the choir populated by members and friends of Caldy Rugby Club. This year we hosted a full church, which was wonderful. Afterwards, we all enjoyed drinks and refreshments at the Church, and in excess of £790 was raised for the RNLI….a great evening, appreciated by everyone.

“Santa’s here!”
On Christmas Day, and despite his busy schedule, Father Christmas made his annual visit to The Woodlands and distributed gifts to the residents. He looked rather like one of the owners, Dave Russell, and our suspicions were heightened when he then visited The Plasterers Arms in Hoylake on his way home!
