We pride ourselves in providing a comfortable and caring environment with staff whose first concern is the happiness and welfare of our residents.
Conveniently situated in Meols in the Wirral, just minutes from facilities such as shops, churches, a post office, public library and two Merseyrail stations, The Woodlands offers personal care for 14 residents as well as respite and day care. Our small size, homely environment and friendly staff contribute to the genuine family atmosphere that is often commented on.
The attractive converted Edwardian house is set back from the main road, with well-maintained gardens at both the front and rear of the building, and has wheelchair access and a lift. Established as an independent care home in 1985, it has been owned since 2008 by Wirral brothers, David and Michael Russell who maintain an active interest, not least because their own mother was a resident until earlier this year.
Our July 2018 CQC inspection report was published in September 2018, and is available on CQC’s website (www.cqc.org.uk). We are delighted that The Woodlands was assessed as “Good” in respect of each one of the five criteria. Please see “Latest News” below for further comments about the CQC report.
We were delighted to receive a “3 Star Premium” rating from Wirral Borough Council’s Department of Adult Social Services following its most recent assessment.
We hope that you find our website informative but to help you get a real feel for life at The Woodlands, we warmly invite visits from prospective residents, families and friends. Take a tour, meet our carers, have a chat with our residents and day visitors over lunch or a cup of tea, and ask as many questions as you like. Moving to residential care is a very important decision and everyone at The Woodlands aims to make it a positive one for you.
Our Manager is Michele Dheere and our Deputy Manager is Jayne Wright. Please don’t hesitate to contact Michele or Jayne on 0151 632 4724 to make an appointment to visit The Woodlands and meet us.
